Sandy qualified as a Solicitor in 1981 and joined the Firm in 2003, a year after it was established. Sandy spent the intervening 30 odd years working in-house with HSBC and then with local commercial law firms where he specialised in both defending and later prosecuting Directors under the Directors Disqualification Act 1986.
Sandy specialises in both contentious and non-contentious matters. He advises Insolvency Practitioners and other clients in connection with all aspects of Insolvency Law relating to all of the formal insolvency procedures. Sandy advises Directors on their duties, powers and obligations and in respect of regulatory legislation that may affect them in their dealings with their Companies. Sandy has also been dealing with all aspects of Personal Insolvency for many years.
Away from the office…
Outside of work, Sandy is Treasurer of his local Rugby Club and has just retired from playing. He enjoys clay pigeon shooting and keeping his local Pub in profit. He also declares himself a staunch Scotsman proud of his Spartan schooling in Edinburgh.
