Lewis started his career in insolvency in 1990 on qualification as a Solicitor at the Birmingham office of a large regional law firm. He later practiced in the East Midlands office of the same firm.
Lewis successfully sat the JIEB examinations in 1997 and has held an Insolvency Licence since 1998. He spent a year in a business support role advising successful and unsuccessful businesses nationally before establishing Lewis Onions Solicitors in 2002.
Lewis deals with all aspects of insolvency law, contentious and non-contentious with experience of insolvency, business failure and underperformance in many business sectors. He has been involved with the insolvency of many well-known companies and organisations.
Lewis advises turnaround professionals, company directors and other business, as to avoidance and limitation of liabilities arising from their management duties.
He has extensive experience in the insolvency and reconstruction of legal practices and has acted as the Court–appointed Special Manager of a number of bankrupt legal firms.
Lewis is an Affiliate Member of ICAEW.
Away from the office…
Lewis spends the majority of his free-time repairing or perhaps riding pre-war motorcycles, watching Rugby Football or playing social golf.
